The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered on a road in the north of Pretoria on Tuesday morning.
Residents of Honingsnestkrans said the bodies were found on Piet My Vrou Road.
A bystander on the scene Wayne Alberts said a resident discovered the bodies around 05:45.
“Both the man and the woman, whose body was found naked in the road, had been shot,” said Alberts.
The man had been shot in the upper body and the woman had a shot wound in her neck.
Other residents and community policing forum members gathered at the scene followed by police.
A reliable source said that these were not the first murders, nor were they the most gruesome, that had been reported in the area this month.
“About two weeks ago a woman’s body was found cut into pieces,” said the source on the scene.
Police spokesperson Captain Rebecca Phatlane said police were still busy with investigations and could not give more information on the matter.
