Farm attack outside Ladysmith – workers tied up and firearms stolen
A farm attack in Elandslaagte that took place on May 5, 2018 saw farm workers being tied up and a home robbed.
A couple who stay on the farm, as workers, heard noises and went to investigate.
They were confronted by five men wearing balaclavas. The men grabbed them and tied them up.
It is believed that one suspect stayed at the farm workers’ home, while the others broke into the farmer’s house.
The men used an angle grinder to cut a safe from the wall. Rifles, shotguns and revolvers were stolen.
The farm workers were not harmed during the robbery.
Once the robbers got what they wanted, they fled the scene.
The husband who was tied up managed to escape hours later and went for help.
