MPS Probing ESKOM State Capture Undeterred By Gupta Lapdogs BLF’s Court Threat
The Gupta Lapdogs Black First Land First movement is accusing the Public Enterprises Portfolio Committee of initiating a one-sided witch-hunt against the Guptas.
CAPE TOWN – Members of Parliament (MPs) probing allegations of state capture at Eskom are undeterred by the Guptas lapdogs, Black First Land First movement’s threat of legal action if they don’t immediately halt their inquiry.
The group is accusing the Public Enterprises Portfolio Committee of initiating a one-sided witch-hunt against the Guptas that would have the effect of protecting white-monopoly capital.
Democratic Alliance MP Natasha Mazzone says the BLF’s claims are legally unsubstantiated and flawed.
“My response to that is, bring it on, I don’t scare easily. This is not a committee that scares easily.”
The ANC’s Zukile Luyenge says: “It can’t be stopped just because they have further information, including other individuals that we might not be aware of. They must submit that information.”
Economic Freedom Fighters MP Floyd Shivambu was flippant in his response.
“I really don’t know why we’re entertaining the Gupta militia.”
BLF members claim lawmakers are attempting to subvert a judicial commission of inquiry into state capture.
Although President Jacob Zuma has indicated he does intend to establish such a commission; it’s unclear when that will happen
